Fundraising

Each year, we hold events to raise funds for the orphanage. If you feel that you could run a fundraiser, we would be pleased to provide information that could be displayed at the event.

Prayer Support for the Orphanage Team, the orphans themselves, and the UK charity is always much appreciated at your church fellowships.

Sponsor a Child

You can sponsor an individual child for £15 per month, providing them with food, shelter, accommodation, and healthcare. In return, we will send you photographs of the child you are sponsoring and, occasionally, a translated letter from them.

Sponsor an Aged Person

India's culture regarding elderly people varies from state to state. In some states, elderly people are looked after by their children and, in others, once they reach old age and are unable to work, their children may move away from them, leaving them to beg. The Mission for Rural People runs a home for the elderly which accommodates up to 10 people. If you sponsor an aged person for £15 per month, you will be covering food, accommodation, and healthcare.

Volunteer at the Orphanage

Volunteering is extremely valuable to us, especially when it comes to helping the children with language skills, as well as helping with building and refurbishment projects at the School and Orphanage. If you have the relevant skills, we'd love to hear from you. If you would like to visit the Orphanage, you will need to book the dates you wish to stay, arrange and pay for your flights and travel to the Orphanage, and pay a small contribution to your food and accommodation. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to find out more or book your stay.

Buy a Borewell

Access to clean water is a big problem in local villages and the Mission for Rural People is combating this by drilling borewells. Not only do these borewells provide the village with fresh water, they free up time for the women and girls who would spend much of their day walking to collect water for cooking and cleaning. If there is a school in walking distance, they will be able to attend during the day. If you would like to contribute to a borewell, there will be a plate put by the well showing your name and country as a thank you. 100% of the money you give will be used to produce the well.

Donate to Blighty Bank

Blighty Bank loans to small businesses in India. Women can't get credit in India, so Blighty Bank gives donations to local women so that they can start a local businesses. When they can afford to do so, they will pay back the loan. The bank then lends to another person. It's done at either little or no interest.
